Nearly 3 months after emerging as the various political parties presidential candidates the following are the score cards of the 3 frontline presidential candidates and their parties.
*Atiku/ PDP*
1. Scheduling & cancellation of NWC meetings due to internal wrangling in the party
2. Setting up of internal wrangling reconciliation Committee that could not sit.
3. Picking a VP candidate that is tearing the party apart
4. Widening disaffection and deep bitterness & rancour amongst the stalwarts of the party which is trying to uproot the entire structure of the party.
5. Inability to set up & inaugurate presidential campaign DG
6. Spent less than one out of the 3 months in the country and about 2 months outside the country on undisclosed private trips.
*Tinubu/APC*
1. Assembled fake Bishops as if they are genuine Bishops in desperate attempt for public acceptance
2. Picked a VP candidate that has polarised the party into Muslim and Christian factions.
3. Candidate only seen in the public less than 5 times in nearly 3 months.
4. Candidate spending more time in the hospitals abroad than in the public sphere in the country.
5. Candidate lost his strategic & popularly believed state of origin and party strong hold in an off season governorship election.
6. Working on a blue print of forcing Nigerians to be eating any other agbado and cassava as the only food they can afford under his govt.
*Peter Obi/LP.*
1. Picked a VP that added immeasurable impetus & of a correlation coefficient of nearly to the outstanding credibility of PO
2. Has traveled only twice out of the country with destination & purpose made known to Nigerians
4. Appearing in the public sphere virtually every day and proffering solutions to the country enormous problems.
5. Unified the previously divided LP before and after his emergence as the party's presidential candidate.
6. PO entrance into the presidential race drastically revived the near moribund LP & making it the most appealing political party in the country.
7. Revolutionarised the youths & changed their known apathy to voter registration across the entire country to the extent that INEC was unable to cope.
8. Has always made himself available to Nigerians & the press for quality interrogation on the problems of the country and proffering of solutions.
9. Picked a VP of international standard without controversies and balanced both regional and religious interests.
The above is a bit of the insight of what is to come in the govt headed by any of these three candidates.
We recall that it took PMB about 6 months after winning the general election before he could come up with his ministerial nominees & some ambassadorial nominations and when he final did yet names of deceased were still found in his list.
Some economic analysts have attributed the collapse of the Nigerian economy in the hands of PMB & his APC govt to the 6 months switch off of the economy after his assumption of office on May 29, 2015.
The activities of both the APC & PDP after their presidential primaries have clearly suggested that none will be different from PMB's govt.
The above score cards is a simple logic based illustration of what each of these three parties and their presidency will give to Nigeria when any of them comes to power next year.
Nigerians are now better informed ahead of time to shine their eyes so that what happened to the country from 2015 won't be allowed to repeat itself in 2023.
