Tinubu is a Muslim. Having won, he is now faced with a very herculean task. If he picks another Muslim, he will lose; if, however, he takes a Christian, he will still lose because the North will not give him their vote.
Thus, the insistence on southern candidate by northern governors was actually an exquisite political calculation. Having seen that a northern candidate from the APC would send the wrong signals, the smart politicians in the North opted for a weaker southerner in their party so that Atiku's victory would be sealed.
But does Tinubu know that he is in a fix? To win votes in the North, one needs a Muslim from that region as vice, which is impossible in Tinubu's case. The smart northerners just succeeded in outsmarting the South once again.
Indeed the northerners are great political thinkers. Anyone who tells Tinubu that he will win in the North is a liar from the pit of hell. Every support he received from the North was a matter of regional agenda. There was a smart move to avoid the emergence of a Christian. You just have to jam your hands for these suave politicians in the North. They are masters at the craft.
One can truly understand why governors in the North were against the imposition of a northerner. They may have cited equity and justice as the basis for their resistance, but we all know better. Truth is, Tinubu did not win; the very smart North won. It is going to be a change of baton from APC to PDP, but it will also be a transfer of power from one northerner to another.
A standing ovation for the North. We will never be as smart as these guys. They toss us about like a coin. But take it or leave it, our brothers in the North are exceptionally intelligent. We have a lot to learn from them. I need to blow them hot kisses. These guys are phenomenal. Let me see a foolish southerner abuse a northerner again. We all watched in glee as these smart compatriots hatched their plan.
Someone should tell me why no northern governor contested. Why would all the northerners object to Ahmad Lawan's imposition? These guys have political farsight and foresight. I respect them. That primary was just a jamboree. It was all a sham indeed. I really enjoyed the abracatabra. That was an ATIKULATED APC primary, ladies and gentlemen.
