THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CHRISTMAS

It's the traditional christmas season again; a time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ  and what this signifies for Christians - the beginning of salvation. But sometimes ,some people are more concerned about celebrating the day by preparing lavish christmas feasts, traveling to be with loved ones and thinking of the latest dress and hair style to make that they forget the spiritual implication of celebrating this season.
If you were to ask some people why they are celebrating the Christmas ,one common response would be " because it's christmas", but have they sat down to ponder on the reason for the season?.
For Christians, the Christmas celebration is all about the birthday of Jesus Christ, the symbol of worldwide Christianity and this means we should be like Jesus Christ in whatever we do during the period. We should take steps to remain at peace with God and our neighbours to quarantee the fulfillment  of the promise of salvation which the birth of Christ signifies.
